Thailand Post Co Ltd is transitioning into an information logistics provider as part of its digital transformation strategy. The company plans to offer comprehensive digital services like Prompt Post, which includes certification, digital signatures, secure document storage, and digital support for public and private sectors. Additionally, Postman Cloud will leverage the expertise of its 25,000 postmen for services such as surveys and express delivery. The introduction of D/ID (Digital Post ID) will enhance personal data protection and location tracking.
This strategic shift aligns with Thailand Post’s 2024 business strategy, which emphasizes sustainability through ESG+E principles (environment, social, governance, and economy). The company aims for carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050, starting with the use of electric vehicles in its fleet from the fourth quarter of 2024, with a target of converting 85% of the fleet by 2030 and 100% by 2040. Thailand Post is also exploring hydrogen energy for its transportation system.
Socially, Thailand Post is promoting sustainable communities through its “Thailand Post Connects Happiness” project, generating over THB 600 million (USD 18 million) by enabling the shipment of local agricultural products. In the first half of 2024, over 18 million kilograms of Thai fruits were shipped across the country via EMS express service.
In governance, Thailand Post prioritizes data protection and transparency while focusing on revenue generation through innovation and partnerships with platforms like TikTok, Shopee, and Lazada. The domestic EMS express service has seen significant growth, with parcel volume increasing by 12.92% since 2023, driven by the expansion of e-commerce and retail. The service currently operates over 50,000 service points nationwide.
