South Korean semiconductor company Signetics is set to operationalize its USD 100-million factory in Vinh Phuc province by October 2025. The new facility, which will supply products to major South Korean conglomerates Samsung and SK, is being developed in partnership with CNCTech, a local provider of precision machinery and a significant industrial park developer in the region.
The factory will be located in Ba Thien I Industrial Park, spanning five hectares, and will manufacture flip-chip, MCM, BGA, and FBGA components used in memory chips, graphics processing units (GPU), and televisions.
At the recent agreement signing ceremony, Vinh Phuc Chairman of the People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong highlighted South Korea as the leading foreign investor in the province, both in terms of investment volume and project count. He urged relevant authorities to facilitate administrative processes and utility services for the investor. Additionally, he called on Young Poong, the parent company of Signetics, to consider further high-tech investments in Vinh Phuc.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as of July 2024, Vinh Phuc had attracted USD 7.33 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) across 555 active projects, with South Korea being the largest investor with 238 projects and a total registered capital exceeding USD 3 billion.
