American International Hospital (AIH) is collaborating with Raffles Hospital Singapore to introduce advanced medical treatments to Vietnam, offering Singaporean-standard healthcare services locally.
This partnership is a response to the growing trend of Vietnamese citizens seeking premium healthcare abroad, particularly in Singapore, due to its renowned medical facilities. Annually, around 500,000 international patients, including over 30,000 from Vietnam, visit Singapore for medical treatments, especially for complex conditions like cancer, heart surgeries, and advanced orthopedic procedures.
The cooperation aims to enhance the quality of Vietnam’s healthcare system, aligning it with regional standards and reducing the financial and logistical burdens associated with international treatments.
Through an agreement, AIH will establish specialty centers such as the AIH Orthopaedic Centre and the AIH Oncology Centre, providing high-quality care in fields like joint replacement, spinal surgeries, robotic surgery, and proton therapy. Additionally, experts from Raffles Hospital Singapore will offer second-opinion consultations and regularly participate in treatments at AIH, ensuring that Vietnamese patients have direct access to international expertise within their own country. This will not only reduce costs but also optimize treatment timelines.
The partnership also includes transferring advanced medical technologies and techniques to AIH, as well as enhancing the hospital’s laboratory services with a certification program to guarantee accurate diagnostics. By bringing Singapore-standard medical care to Vietnam, AIH and Raffles Hospital Singapore aim to improve healthcare quality, reduce treatment costs, and make advanced healthcare more accessible to the Vietnamese population.
