Nokia is partnering with Foxconn to manufacture its 5G AirScale equipment at Foxconn’s factory in Bac Giang province. Under this collaboration, Foxconn will produce Nokia’s 5G AirScale equipment, including the latest AirScale Massive MIMO radio products.
This partnership is expected to create more jobs and bring new economic opportunities to Vietnamese companies, while also aiming to reduce carbon emissions. Production is scheduled to begin in July 2024, with plans to increase output by September 2024. These products will be sold both domestically and internationally.
A Foxconn representative highlighted that this collaboration underscores Vietnam’s role as a preferred manufacturing hub. Foxconn has been operating in Vietnam for 17 years and expects to further contribute to the country’s economy through this partnership with Nokia.
The general director of Nokia Vietnam stated that partnering with Foxconn to produce the AirScale product portfolio in Vietnam will meet customer demand and improve cost efficiency. He emphasized that Nokia has been part of Vietnam’s growth for the past three decades, and this initiative will further strengthen its ties with the country.
Nokia has been involved in 5G deployment projects with Vietnamese telecom service providers. As Nokia’s global manufacturing partner, Foxconn will expand its capacity to produce Nokia’s 5G products in Vietnam, accelerating the pace of 5G deployment in the country.
