US tech giant Motorola Solutions has recently opened a new research and development (R&D) center in Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam, to advance data analytics and AI-enabled technologies for enhancing the company’s safety and security ecosystem.
The R&D center will develop solutions that improve public safety by linking individuals to essential information and directing human attention during emergencies.
These innovations encompass AI-driven camera systems, sensors, and vehicle detection technologies that integrate with command centers, enhancing decision-making and speeding up emergency responses.
Besides, Motorola’s representatives emphasized the role of data analytics and AI in rapidly and accurately analyzing data to alert humans when significant events occur, prompting further investigation.
They also mentioned that the company will concentrate on three primary areas: critical communications technology, video security and access control, and command center software. All of these are utilized by emergency services to manage their workflows and data.
Vietnamese government agencies are currently major users of Motorola’s video networks. Additionally, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam adopted the company’s TETRA digital trunked radio system in 2006, marking the first implementation of such a system in the country.
The opening highlights Motorola Solutions’ ongoing investment in diverse, multicultural engineering talent across the Asia Pacific region, with additional R&D locations in Penang, Bangalore, and Kolkata.
