Denzai K.K., a specialist in cranes and transportation, will provide cranes for the construction of Long Thanh International Airport, which is being developed on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The airport project is managed by a consortium of ten companies, and Denzai Vietnam Corporation, a subsidiary of the Japanese Denzai group, will supply the cranes. Denzai Vietnam has signed a crane lease agreement with ATAD Steel Structure Corporation (ATAD), a participant in the consortium.
Between October 2024 and February 2025, Denzai will deploy two 800-ton capacity crawler cranes along with other equipment to aid in the construction of the airport terminal, part of the first phase of the project. This phase is projected to cost around USD 4.1 billion and will include a runway and a terminal designed to handle 25 million passengers annually.
The company commented that it secured this order due to previous experiences in crane operations for airport construction projects, such as the Haneda Airport Runway-A Extension and Narita Airport Expansion.
The groundbreaking ceremony for Long Thanh International Airport was held in August 2023. The completed airport will have the capacity to serve 100 million passengers and handle 5 million tonnes of cargo each year.
