French luxury fashion group SMCP, which owns brands such as Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot, and Fursac, is expanding in Indonesia through a new partnership with Mitra Adi Perkasa (MAP) Group. The company recently opened its first Sandro store at Jakarta’s Plaza Senayan as part of its plan to establish a stronger presence in the country. With this expansion, SMCP seeks to connect with Indonesia’s middle class, which is showing increasing interest in accessible luxury fashion.
MAP Group, operating in Indonesia since 1995, manages nearly 3,000 stores across the country. Its portfolio spans a variety of brands in fashion, cosmetics, and sports, including Loewe, Lacoste, and Inditex Group brands. Partnering with SMCP adds to MAP Group’s collaborations with international brands and introduces SMCP’s fashion lines to a broader Indonesian market.
SMCP has plans for additional store openings in major shopping centers across Indonesia over the next five years. In addition to its efforts in Indonesia, the group is also expanding in the Philippines, where it plans to open stores in key districts of Manila and set up shop in Rustan’s department stores. Both countries are important to SMCP’s growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region, with Indonesia playing a key role in its market development plans.
