Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Plc (BDMS), Thailand’s largest private hospital operator, signed an agreement with Silicon Valley-based innovation platform Plug and Play Tech Center to develop innovations for a new paradigm of medical treatment.
With this move, BDMS becomes the seventh major corporation to join the Plug and Play’s Thailand Smart Cities Program, along with Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group), PTT Group Plc, Thaioil, K.E. Group, Filinvest Development Corporation, and Bangchak.
Founded in 2006, Plug and Play is a global innovation platform that pairs startups worldwide with large corporations to make business deals and co-develop products or technologies. Plug and Play helped grow market leaders such as PayPal, Danger, Google, DropBox, LendingClub, Zoosk, SoundHound, CreditSesame, Skytree, and has over 400 more early-stage startups in its portfolio.
The new partnership will drive innovation across four key strategies for BDMS: improving operational efficiency, enhancing excellent patient experience, integrating value-based healthcare service, and transitioning to a smart hospital system.
