Apple will open its first store in Malaysia as part of its regional expansion across Southeast Asia. This will be Apple’s sixth store in the area, following three in Singapore and two in Thailand.
Situated at the Exchange TRX shopping center in Kuala Lumpur, the store will start welcoming customers in June 2024. It will be notably larger than existing Apple Premium Resellers in Malaysia, such as Machines and Switch. Spanning two floors, Apple The Exchange TRX will showcase a wide range of products including iPhones, HomePods, AirPods, Macs, iPads, and Apple Watch.
The new store will offer free learning sessions and feature dedicated areas like the Genius Bar, providing expert service and support for Apple products. Additionally, Apple The Exchange TRX will host Today at Apple workshops and classes, open to everyone including non-Apple users. These sessions cover diverse topics such as creating emojis and iPhone photography, and participants can use loaner devices if they don’t have an Apple product. Beyond China, where it faces growing competition from local brands, Apple has been actively expanding its footprint in Asia. While Malaysia doesn’t manufacture iPhones, some Mac models are locally produced.
