Vietjet and Honeywell Aerospace Technologies have signed a USD 1.1 billion cooperation agreement to provide advanced avionics and technical services for Vietjet’s modern, fuel-efficient aircraft fleet. The agreement is an important advancement in Vietjet’s ongoing fleet modernization efforts.
The partnership will see Honeywell providing avionics, Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) maintenance, and its advanced Flight Efficiency program, which will help reduce emissions and enhance fuel efficiency across Vietjet’s entire fleet. This includes new-generation wide-body A330neo and narrow-body aircraft. Vietjet’s CEO emphasized that the agreement is part of the airline’s commitment to sustainable growth and eco-friendly flights, contributing to its long-term environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
Meanwhile, the representatives of Honeywell praised the ongoing collaboration, noting that the US company has supported Vietjet for nearly a decade. Honeywell’s technology has been key in optimizing fuel consumption and minimizing carbon footprints for airlines worldwide, including British Airways and Japan Airlines.
Vietjet has consistently earned a 7/7-star safety rating from AirlineRatings and is recognized as one of the world’s safest low-cost carriers since 2018. The airline is expanding its fleet with more fuel-efficient planes and maintains a technical reliability rate of 99.6%, placing it among the top airlines globally. Through collaborations with Honeywell and other industry leaders, Vietjet remains committed to using advanced technology to provide the best flying experience for passengers worldwide.
