Malaysia is making substantial advancements in bolstering its cybersecurity defenses through a partnership between Velum Labs Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Sapura Group specializing in cyber intelligence and cybersecurity, and the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), the governmental authority responsible for overseeing all cybersecurity operations. Both partners signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) during the Cyber Defence & Security Exhibition & Conference in August 2023.
The MoU establishes a renewed partnership for sharing cyber intelligence and strategies, aiming to strengthen, promote and develop national cyber capabilities strategically. The agreement further underscores Velum Labs’ crucial collaboration with NACSA and the National Security Council to enhance Malaysia’s cyber oversight.
In particular, Velum Labs has introduced its latest advancement, V-Dark, an advanced cyber intelligence solution designed to combat intricate cyber threats, including those posed by organized criminal networks. This underscores Velum Labs’ dedication to addressing the evolving landscape of cyber challenges. Additionally, in March 2023, Velum Labs initiated a partnership with the British cyber intelligence firm TriCIS Ltd, aimed at expanding their market reach across the region.
