Son Ha Development of Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company, a Son Ha Group member, has recently launched its EVgo electric vehicle production plant in Thuan Thanh II Industrial Park, Bac Ninh Province. This move follows a collaboration between Son Ha and Bosch, a leading engineering company, to research and develop technology solutions for electric vehicles.
In the first phase, the new plant will have a production capacity of 20,000 – 30,000 vehicles a year, coming in two versions EVgo C (battery) and EVgo D (electric). In the second phase, the Vietnamese vehicle manufacturer will continue to research and work with foreign partners to produce electric cars not only for the domestic market and but also for export.
In the next 5-10 years, Son Ha hopes to become one of the three largest electric vehicle manufacturers, assemblers, and suppliers in Vietnam, as well as to account for 10-20% of the domestic two-wheeler market share (about 300,000 – 600,000 vehicles a year).
