Medical equipment provider, the Philippine Medical Depot (PMD) recently established a simulation facility for Medical schools in the Philippines. The simulator, located at the PMD center in Quezon city is now ready to be used by local Medical schools.
Major technologies used in the Medical simulator include a virtual dissecting table and Virtual Reality (VR) solutions which allow students to assess and diagnose patients, develop care plans and evaluate client progress while receiving real-time feedback and scoring to improve their skills.
Medical simulators are a proven, cost-effective way to improve quality of care while minimizing harm to the patient, even with up-front costs for the simulator, according to the company president, Dr. Luis Ramon Rodriguez. The PMD center also houses Medical equipment and solutions providers, bringing together many different brands in the industry in one place.
