HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd (HSSI), a leading Malaysian Engineering Consultancy firm under HSS Engineers Bhd, has bagged MYR 71.3 million (USD 17.5 million) worth of contract to provide detailed design and construction supervision services for Johor state’s first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. The contract was awarded by the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), a federal government statutory body responsible for development within Iskandar Malaysia, the main southern development corridor in the state of Johor in Malaysia.
HSSI stated that the BRT transport system would consist of three high-capacity lanes and a dedicated busway. The work is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023, followed by a Defect Liability period of 24 months which ends in the first quarter of 2025.
The first phase of the BRT line consists of three lines, with the total distance to stretch over 51 kilometers through Johor state, covering key districts such as Iskandar Malaysia and Johor Bahru.
