Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, through its Vietnam subsidiary, signed an agreement with the National Phytopharma Joint-Stock Company No 2 (Phytopharma) allowing the latter to distribute AstraZeneca pharmaceutical products in Vietnam.
This is expected to provide Vietnamese people with the opportunity to access the most innovative medicines, while also bringing safe and high-quality pharmaceutical products with reasonable prices from a world renowned producer.
AstraZeneca also signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU), one with HCM City University of Medicine and Pharmacy focused on strengthening medical knowledge and improving capacity in clinical trials in Vietnam and the second with the British Government on a program promoting renewable energy development, especially solar energy, at healthcare facilities in Vietnam.
The company is also helping the Vietnamese government on prevention of non-communicable diseases and has poured tens of millions of dollars into R&D in the country, which is part of its plans to invest USD 220 million in Vietnam in 2020-2024 period.
