US private equity firm Warburg Pincus has confirmed its investment in Xuyen A, a private tertiary general hospital group based in Vietnam. Warburg Pincus’ investment in Xuyen A is part of its broader strategy in Vietnam’s healthcare market.
The investment agreement between Warburg Pincus and Xuyen A was signed during an event celebrating Xuyen A’s ten years of operations in Ho Chi Minh City. However, the financial details and specific terms of the investment have not been disclosed.
Xuyen A offers tertiary healthcare services in over 20 specialties and operates four multi-specialty tertiary hospitals in Southern Vietnam, with its flagship hospital located in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cu Chi District.
The new investment by Warburg Pincus underscores the firm’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Vietnam’s healthcare sector and enhance Xuyen A’s existing capabilities. The partnership is expected to accelerate Xuyen A’s growth and jointly develop Vietnam’s hospital industry. The investment also targets to enhance Xuyen A’s care offering, scale up through greenfield or brownfield development, and strengthen medical teams.
Additionally, Xuyen A announced the launch of a new oncology center of excellence at its flagship hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. This center will expand the hospital’s oncology services, including surgical oncology, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, further providing special treatment for the local residents in the city and nearby provinces.
