The BHC Group, South Korea’s second-largest chicken franchise by sales, has announced the opening of its third store in Malaysia in November 2022 as part of its strategy to expand into Southeast Asia. The new restaurant is located in Kuala Lumpur and will be operated by a local logistics company under a master franchise agreement.
This is the third overseas restaurant by BHC Group after two BHC chicken restaurants in Hong Kong. BHC Chicken plans to open more branches in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. In general, South Korean chicken retail chains have been rapidly growing overseas, such as Kyochon Chicken with 67 branches abroad, and BBQ Chicken with over 450 branches.
In particular, the BHC Group’s overseas business will become more visible starting in the second half of 2022. In future, the company will develop into a global company that can bring various types of Korean food to countries abroad. The company also announced that Changgo43, its Korean barbecue restaurant that sells hanwoo (Korean beef), will open its first overseas branch soon.
