Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI) is expanding its footprint in Southern Philippines with the construction of four new supermarket stores in Cebu and Leyte. This expansion underscores MRSGI’s strategy to serving more communities in Central Eastern Visayas.
The new stores will include a Metro Supermarket in Barangay Tayud, Cebu, and Metro Value Mart outlets in Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Tangke. Additionally, a new Metro Supermarket will open in Barangay Marvel, Isabel, Leyte. These new openings will bring MRSGI’s total number of stores to 68, with 46 located in the Visayas.
Benedicto C.T. Miranda, Vice President of Store Network Development at MRSGI, highlighted the company’s pursuit of collaborating with the community and providing high-quality goods and services. This expansion is part of MRSGI’s broader strategy to build strong relationships with local communities and contribute positively to their development.
MRSGI currently operates 64 stores across the Philippines and is also exploring expansion opportunities in Luzon to reach more consumers nationwide. By broadening its retail network, MRSGI aims to enhance customer accessibility and support local economic growth. This move by MRSGI is expected to boost the retail landscape in the Visayas region, providing residents with more shopping options and contributing to the region’s economic progress.
