Swedish home furnishing giant IKEA has announced its expansion into major cities across the Philippines, further solidifying its footprint in the country’s burgeoning market.
Following the successful establishment of its “Collection Point” facility in February 2022, IKEA Philippines has extended its presence to key urban centers such as Davao, Cagayan de Oro City, and Iloilo City, marking a significant milestone in its mission to cater to diverse consumer needs. Leotina Bucur, spokesperson for IKEA Philippines, highlighted the brand’s commitment to providing high-quality and affordable home products, citing the growing demand for IKEA’s offerings in these dynamic urban hubs.
Through innovative online and delivery services, including truck delivery, “Click & Collect,” and assembly services, IKEA aims to bring its signature blend of stylish and functional designs to even more Filipino households, enhancing accessibility to its renowned home furnishing solutions. Notably, the inclusion of Davao, Cagayan de Oro City, and Iloilo in IKEA’s network signifies the company’s dedication to making well-designed and sustainable home furnishings accessible to a broader spectrum of the Filipino population, notwithstanding the absence of physical stores in these cities.
Jarek Lesniewski, Country Fulfillment Manager at IKEA Philippines, expressed enthusiasm for the company’s nationwide expansion, emphasizing its positive impact on the local economy and its role in promoting modern and functional home décor practices among Filipinos. Benefitting from the robust real estate industry in the Philippines, IKEA witnessed a remarkable double-digit growth in online orders in 2023, underscoring the strong demand for its products since its entry into the Philippine market in 2021.
With the latest expansion, residents of Iloilo, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro can now conveniently access IKEA’s diverse product range through IKEA.ph and have their purchases delivered directly to their doorsteps via e-truck delivery.
Moreover, IKEA’s “Click & Collect” service allows customers to pick up their orders at designated collection points at their convenience, while assembly services ensure hassle-free setup of flat-pack furniture.
In a bid to prioritize sustainability, IKEA Philippines has partnered with Mober, a leading provider of green logistics services in the Philippines, to utilize 100% electric vehicles for all delivery operations. This eco-friendly approach aligns with IKEA’s global commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices. Dennis Ng, Founder and CEO of Mober, lauded IKEA Philippines for its pioneering efforts in utilizing e-vehicles, noting significant reductions in carbon emissions as a result.
With sustainability at the forefront of its operations, IKEA Philippines aims to continue delivering exceptional value to Filipino consumers while minimizing its environmental impact. As IKEA expands its reach across the Philippines, it remains steadfast in its mission to enrich lives through affordable, well-designed home furnishings, further solidifying its position as the world’s leading home furnishing retailer.
