City Energy Unveils Cross-Border EV Charging Service in Malaysia And Singapore

Singapore’s sole piped town-gas provider, City Energy, is investing over SGD 100 million (USD 72 million) to develop the first electric vehicle (EV) charging service in Malaysia and Singapore. The EV service will be provided through its newly established subsidiary, City Energy Go Pte Ltd (Go).

Go will fund, operate and maintain a network of EV charging stations that will be accessible via mobile application. The firm is forming a strategic partnership with EV Connection Sdn. Bhd. (EV Connection) to extend charging connectivity into Malaysia. Go will be the first service in Singapore that extends EV charging capabilities into Malaysia, which will be available on both sides of the Causeway, and Malaysia’s North-South Highway.

Go drivers can access EV Connection’s network of charge points in Malaysia from 19 April 2022. Go is also a qualified LTA Smart Charger Operator in Singapore while EV Connection is Malaysia’s leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions and an authorized EV charging station distributor registered with local agencies such as the Energy Commission, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Tenaga Nasional Berhad and MyHijau.
