American Company Establishes Foreign Investment Entity in Vietnam to Enhance Women’s Healthcare

Sep 2024

Organon, a US-based healthcare company focused on advancing women’s health and community well-being, has recently announced the launch of its Foreign Investment Enterprise (FIE) in Vietnam.

This strategic development represents a major step in the company’s mission to meet the distinct healthcare needs of women across the Asia Pacific region. Given Vietnam’s robust economic growth and rising demand for high-quality healthcare services, the new entity will strengthen Organon’s capacity to serve the Vietnamese market, build local partnerships, and contribute to the nation’s healthcare progress.

The Country Lead at Organon Vietnam expressed enthusiasm about this new venture, highlighting Vietnam’s potential and the growing need for quality healthcare. She emphasized Organon’s dedication to providing innovative solutions for Vietnamese women, aiming to significantly improve health and well-being nationwide.

Organon plans to roll out a range of healthcare products and services tailored to Vietnamese women’s needs, particularly addressing issues like declining birth rates and unintended pregnancies. With nearly half of all pregnancies in Vietnam being unintended, this often leads to unsafe abortions, maternal mortality, and other health issues.

To address these challenges, Organon has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vietnam Population Authority to enhance access to contraception and reproductive health education through new digital resources and a dedicated hotline for young women. This initiative aims to empower women with vital knowledge and resources to reduce unintended pregnancies and promote safer reproductive practices.

Organon offers a portfolio of over 60 medicines and products across various therapeutic areas. The company’s focus on women’s health, combined with its growing biosimilars business and established medicines, generates revenue that will fund ongoing innovation and future growth in women’s health.
