The “Promoting organic food certification & trade between Australia and Vietnam” project was launched in September 2021, supported by the Australian Government. The project will be carried out from September 2021 to May 2022, with an aim to expand the production and trade of organic products to Vietnam.
The project will train 200 farmers, co-operatives, businesses, government employees, associations, and women in the Vietnam organic agriculture industry about organic food production, certification, and trade, drawing on experience from the Australian and Vietnamese organic agriculture industries, with the goal of increasing bilateral trade in this sector.
Following each training module, a series of webinars or forums will be held to promote the organic food trade between Australia and Vietnam.
In addition, the project will create an online trade forum to promote organic food, certification, and technology trade between the two countries.
The opening ceremony was held online with the participation of 150 delegates from the two countries, including representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and the Environment of Australia, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, and Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of several Vietnamese localities, as well as representatives of associations, businesses, cooperatives and experts in organic agricultural products.
