Vietjet Air to Cooperate with ST Engineering to Leverage Operational Capacity

Mar 2022

In February 2022, Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet Air signed a comprehensive component Maintenance-By-the-Hour (MBH™) contract with the Singaporean firm ST Engineering to strengthen the airline’s entire fleet. The signing ceremony was held during the state visit of the Vietnamese President to Singapore.

Under the contract, ST Engineering will supply Vietjet with a full suite of component support solutions for the airline’s entire fleet, including component pooling, repair, overhaul, modification, main base kits, component health monitoring, and logistics services.

ST Engineering has been recognized worldwide as a leading provider of the hallmark component MBH programs, serving more than 900 aircraft and providing integrated component solutions for over 23,500 distinct aircraft parts. In addition, over 20 top OEMs have designated ST Engineering as their authorized service center. The company’s commercial aerospace business provides round-the-clock assistance and distributes more than 80,000 components annually from its component MRO facilities in Singapore, Stockholm, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Meanwhile, Vietjet Air is Vietnam’s largest private airline and a full member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), holding Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Certificate issued by IATA. In 2018 and 2019, the budget carrier received the highest safety rating of 7 stars from airlineratings.com, the world’s only safety and product rating website. It was named one of the world’s 50 best airlines for healthy financing and operations by Airfinance Journal. Several reputable organizations, including Skytrax, CAPA, Airline Ratings, and others, have recognized the airline as the Best Low-Cost Carrier.
