Starbucks Aims for 800 Stores in Thailand by 2030

Aug 2023

Starbucks recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in Thailand, announcing a large expansion of its store network in the country. Specifically, the American company set the goal to have 800 stores in the Southeast Asian country by 2030, including eight Community Stores, strengthening its commitment to accelerating growth in one of the region’s most dynamic markets.

Starbucks has expanded to 456 locations during the 25 years of its presence in Thailand, counting more than 4,300 partners and workers and more than 800,000 weekly customers.

Moreover, Starbucks Thailand is renovating its Reserve Chao Phraya Riverfront location in IconSiam to become the region’s second Starbucks Community Store, following the first one that opened in 2013 in the Langsuan neighborhood of Bangkok. According to Starbucks, the new store strengthens its goal to open 1,000 Community Stores by 2030 globally.

It has also been reported that Starbucks Thailand plans to introduce drive-thru formats for its upcoming stores as part of this long-term project.

Back in 2022, Starbucks announced its plans for rapid expansion strategy in Thailand, a strategy that calls for the opening of 30 new coffee shops every year until 2024.
