Grab, the leading ride-hailing platform in South East Asia which also offers food delivery and digital payment services, officially launched its on-demand grocery delivery service called GrabMart in the Philippines that aims to help bring the daily necessities and dry goods to Filipino’s doorsteps. GrabMart allow users to purchase grocery items, personal care products, and soon, even medicines, from specialty stores and well-known retail partners such as Robinsons Supermarket, Great Deals E-commerce Corporation, FamilyMart, Starbucks at Home, ASSI Fresh Plaza, Fetch! Naturals, Dog City, and Barcino to start.
The on-demand grocery service is currently available in select areas of Quezon City, Pasig, Manila, Mandaluyong, Makati, San Juan, Valenzuela, Paranaque, and Taguig, and will soon expand to more locations within Metro Manila in the coming weeks.
Grab Philippines hopes that the new service will further help not only the consumers who need access to daily essentials but also its delivery and merchant partners during this trying time and with the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in place to deal with the COVID-19 outbreak.
Apart from Grab Philippines, other ride hailing services Joyride and Angkas have also launched delivery service to help their bikers and the community during the ECQ period. The items that can be delivered through their delivery services include food, drinks, medicine, clothing, groceries, parcels and documents.
