Grab, South East Asia’s largest mobile technology company, and AS Watson, the world’s largest international health and beauty retailer, will collaborate across multiple services to expand Watsons’ online reach in South East Asia. The new partnership means customers will be able to purchase health and beauty products from an extensive network of Watsons stores via Grab services.
The partnership, which spans six South East Asian markets – Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines – is the largest O+O (online and offline) health and beauty partnership in South East Asia to date. The new regional O+O partnership will be rolled out in phases, and will include:
- Expedited delivery through GrabExpress: Grab will serve as Watsons’ last-mile express delivery partner in South East Asia through GrabExpress integration.
- Ecommerce expansion through GrabMart: The partnership will bring up to 2,200 Watsons stores in six South East Asian markets onto GrabMart, making Watsons the largest health and beauty retailer on the platform.
- Convenient cashless payment through GrabPay: Customers will receive GrabRewards points for all Watson’s transactions made through GrabPay.
In the wake of COVID-19, Watsons’ e-commerce business saw strong growth, with orders and sales doubling in 2020 compared to the year before.
Grab’s user penetration and super-app advantage are expected to further fuel this growth, giving improved accessibility to Watsons’ over 62,000 health and beauty products.
