Qlik, a business data and analytics software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider, announced the launch of its new cloud region in Singapore. This represents the company’s fourth cloud region globally after its cloud regions in Australia, Ireland and the US. Its entry into Singapore is also a move to strengthen its support for its growing customer demand in the Asia Pacific region. The new cloud region builds on Qlik’s continued investment in Singapore, which began in 2011 with the opening of its corporate office.
The Singapore cloud region will enable its customers in both Singapore and the immediate region to store and deploy data for analytics at scale, reaping optimal operational performance and data compliance together with the cost savings offered by the cloud. The local cloud region will also provide customers with the ability to serve end-users’ analytical needs in the region more effectively and faster, with lower latency issues.
The company’s customers, such as Essilor, which specializes in ophthalmic optics and visual health, have welcomed the new cloud region in Singapore. According to Essilor, hosting its analytics applications in Qlik’s cloud region will increase performance and robustness, empowering it to make smarter, data-informed decisions to deliver the best services that meet its customer’s needs.
