Lazada, the Southeast Asian e-commerce giant, plans to build “hundreds” of delivery hubs throughout the Philippines in an effort to enhance delivery times and customer experience. The CEO of Lazada Philippines, Carlos Barrera, said the company is investing in building its network, growing its faster delivery capabilities, building more hubs, and getting closer to its customers. The goal is to make online shopping more convenient, faster, and less expensive for customers in the Philippines.
Barrera stated that Lazada is currently strong in Metro Manila, Luzon, and some other metro areas in the provinces. However, the company’s next objective is to expand faster deliveries all over the country. Lazada believes that this will help it stay ahead in the Philippines’ e-commerce market.
Mr. Barrera also commented that Lazada is relatively insulated from the rising inflation in the Philippines. This is because the company has a lower cost of doing business, and many of its sellers are able to limit price increases. The launch of Lazada’s faster delivery campaign is part of the company’s 11th-anniversary celebrations.
