BPJS Kesehatan and IDX Sign Data Sharing Agreement

Jun 2019

On 17 May, BPJS Kesehatan and the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) signed a data sharing agreement aiming to encourage companies and their employees to take part in the JKN-KIS program, as required by the law. Under the agreement BJPS Kesehatan will share data about prospective investors and companies with IDX,  helping to identify companies with the potential to go public. For example, BPJS could provide data on a company’s legal, accounting and administrative employees to help the IDX determine which companies needed strengthening to become publicly listed. IDX in turn will help BPJS to promote national healthcare to the companies listed on the exchange.

BJPS Kesehatan’s customer service and expansion director said at the signing that 83.94% or 221 million people in Indonesia are registered under the National Health Insurance and Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN – KIS) program, as of May 2019. A large part of subscriptions have come from employee of private companies – 265,455 companies have participated in the JKN-KIS program. Around 32 million people were registered as employees of private companies.
