The Embassy of Israel in the Philippines and the Israel Economic Commercial Mission to the Philippines commenced a partnership with the Philippines’ Department of Agriculture (DA) and the National Dairy Authority (NDA) in order to develop the dairy sector of the Southeast Asian country.
The partnership aims to introduce smart and precision agriculture solutions in the Philippines using Israeli technology that is adjusted to local conditions. It is also possible that MASHAV, Israel’s agency for development cooperation, will support the Philippines through technical assistance and capacity-building programs for the dairy industry.
A virtual event entitled “Philippine – Israel Dairy Business Forum: Ramping Up the Milk Production to Meet Local Demands” followed the signing of the partnership. The event aimed to share best practices from Israel’s advanced dairy industry, discuss the challenges of the sector in the Philippines, and introduce innovative technologies to increase farm productivity in the country. Israeli companies specializing in dairy technologies, herd management, breeding, artificial insemination, milk equipment, and complementary technology were also presented during the event, signaling the interest in the market.
