Malaysia’s multinational conglomerate Nexgram Holdings announced that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary Nexgram Biomedic Sdn Bhd is looking to develop a medical complex in Melaka state at a proposed development value of MYR 1.6 billion (USD 390,148).
Nexgram Biomedic Sdn Bhd is a biotechnology firm dedicated to developing new medical devices, drugs, and technologies.
Nexgram has signed an understanding with the Melaka State Economic Development Corporation (PKNM) to acquire 24.8 acres of land in Melaka Tengah for the project. It will consist of small office home office (SoHo) units, a hospital building, a wellness center and a bioscience research center.
Additionally, Melaka Lifecare Specialist is projected to be part of the mixed-development project. The complex may include retirement and medical tourism center, a three-star hotel, a condotel, and a recreation park. Apart from serving the healthcare needs of the wider Asian region, the medical complex is also projected to further boost Melaka’s economic gross domestic product, employment, and social welfare within the next 5 to 10 years.
