Global food corporation Cargill is the most recent among the list of high-profile corporate investors in Singapore food grading start-up ProfilePrint, putting in an undisclosed sum.
ProfilePrint’s patented ‘digital fingerprint’ technology is revolutionary in the agri-food industry. The AI-based platform, with its latest technology, can make on-the-spot assessments of different food ingredients and grade them for quality far faster than traditional methods. ProfilePrint’s portable scanner can alleviate the enormous amount of effort required currently to grade food samples as they travel across the supply chain.
On a similar front, GroGrace, a 650sqm urban farm that can produce up to 70kgs of leafy greens per sqm, was launched in the first week of August. With four growing floors, the Singapore-based farm is four times more productive than conventional indoor farms. The farm is one of the beneficiaries of the Singapore Food Agency’s USD 50 million Agriculture Productivity Fund (APF).
