AgEagle Aerial Systems Inc, a U.S.-based provider of drone and aerial imaging solutions, has recently completed its first sale of the eBee VISION fixed-wing drone in Thailand. The transaction was carried out through its local partner, Sky Visual Imaging Venture (SkyVIV). This marks the beginning of AgEagle’s entry into the Southeast Asian market.
The eBee VISION is an upgraded version of the eBee X drone. It is designed for fast, real-time video surveillance and tracking, making it suitable for use in emergency response and security operations. According to SkyVIV’s Chief Operating Officer, there is increasing interest in fixed-wing drones that can provide live data in dynamic situations, and the eBee VISION meets this need.
SkyVIV has worked with AgEagle since 2012 and has promoted its drone technology in Thailand, especially for agriculture and civil monitoring. SkyVIV’s Chief Executive Officer stated that the company is involved in collaborative research with universities in Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands to improve crop yields using AgEagle’s drones and sensors.
The unmanned aerial system market in Southeast Asia is expected to grow at an annual rate of 14% over the next five years. This growth is driven by government support and lower ownership costs. Sectors such as agriculture, construction, emergency response, and border security are expected to see increased drone use.
AgEagle’s CEO said the sale represents a key move into Southeast Asia and reflects the company’s focus on providing drone solutions for various industries in the region.
