The Philippines has been attracting attention from several U.S. semiconductor and electronics companies following its participation in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas. According to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), discussions have begun with potential investors who are considering expanding their operations into the country.
PEZA highlighted the Philippines’ strong economic performance, and the competitive fiscal incentives offered under the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) law, positioning the country as a key investment destination in Southeast Asia. During CES 2025, eight PEZA-registered companies from the semiconductor and electronics global value chain showcased their capabilities, enhancing the country’s presence in the global technology sector.
Among the companies engaged in discussions were Quintel Solutions, a subsidiary of long-standing PEZA locator Cirtek, and ON Semiconductor Corporation (Onsemi), a major semiconductor manufacturer with operations in PEZA zones across Tarlac, Cavite, and Cebu. Onsemi produces advanced semiconductor components, such as MOSFETs and silicon carbide technology, which are crucial to various high-tech industries.
With these engagements, the Philippines is positioning itself as a growing hub for semiconductor manufacturing and electronics production, leveraging its skilled workforce, strategic location, and investor-friendly policies to attract further foreign investment in the sector.
