Universal Robina Corporation (URC), one of the Philippines’ leading food and beverage companies, has unveiled a state-of-the-art milling complex in Sariaya, designed and built by Ocrim S.p.A., a global leader in milling technology. The facility, inaugurated on November 29, 2024, integrates advanced automation, high-efficiency systems, and sustainable practices to enhance production capacity while reducing environmental impact.
The new mill, developed with Industry 4.0 principles, features two milling lines with a combined daily capacity of 1,320 tonnes, processing soft and hard wheat. The facility utilizes high-efficiency flow systems to maximize production yield while minimizing energy consumption and environmental impact. Automated technologies allow for optimized production control, while the use of stainless steel and antimicrobial materials ensures high sanitation standards.
URC’s investment in this facility reflects its commitment to modernizing the Philippine milling industry and improving local food security. The plant is expected to boost the supply of high-quality flour for domestic and commercial use. The project also reinforces the long-standing partnership between URC and Ocrim, strengthening the Italian firm’s presence in the Southeast Asian market. As global demand for efficient and sustainable food production grows, this facility is set to play a crucial role in advancing the Philippines’ flour milling capabilities.
