Toys”R”Us Asia has launched its new IP Collection Flagship Store at Suria KLCC, marking the brand’s most significant retail innovation in Malaysia in nearly two decades. Located on Level 2, the flagship introduces a “shop-in-shop” concept featuring immersive zones for global intellectual properties (IPs) such as Pokémon, Gundam, and Barbie. A major centerpiece of the expansion is the TOMICA BRAND STORE, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.
The TOMICA zone features the TOMICA WALL, the largest die-cast display in the region with over 2,000 miniature cars. Collectors can access Japan-exclusive “TOMICA Shop” products and monthly releases, including two flagship-exclusive models: the Lamborghini Veneno and the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport. Each exclusive model is priced at MYR 39.90 (USD 9.50). Beyond die-cast cars, the store hosts a dedicated Gundam zone headlined by a life-size statue of the GQuuuuuuX (from the latest 2025 series), currently the only one in Malaysia, alongside a three-meter Hot Wheels playset inspired by the Suria KLCC skyline.
This flagship launch coincides with the “Toys are Joy” festive campaign, positioning the store as a primary destination for “kidults” and families alike. The curated experience includes Malaysia’s first Blokees figurine wall and a Barbie zone modeled after the iconic Dreamhouse. According to Carol Chua, General Manager of Toys”R”Us Malaysia, the store is designed to move beyond traditional retail by offering hands-on displays and interactive weekend activities, such as the “White TOMICA Colouring” sessions, to foster deeper engagement with fan-favorite universes.
