In a continued effort to strengthen healthcare ties, Team Sweden, a collaboration of the Swedish Embassy, Business Sweden, and various Swedish companies, is working closely with Indonesia’s Health Ministry to advance the Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership (SISP) Healthcare platform. Established in 2023, the platform focuses on five critical areas: cancer care, critical emergencies, diabetes, maternal and child health, and healthcare digitalization.
Looking at 2025, the partnership aims to implement a range of initiatives, including high-level discussions, capacity-building programs, and the expansion of doctoral studies. A notable project is the introduction of anemia academies within public health initiatives to address maternal and child health challenges.
Swedish Ambassador Daniel Blockert reaffirmed the mutual commitment to sustainable development, noting that SISP Healthcare aligns with the broader goals of the 2030 Agenda. He emphasized the readiness of Swedish companies to contribute to Indonesia’s healthcare objectives in the coming year.
Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Health Ministry, expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential to yield impactful outcomes. He highlighted the involvement of Indonesian doctors in the Twinning Doctoral Program at the Karolinska Institute, focusing on crucial health issues that align with SISP’s goals.
This collaboration also complements Indonesia’s Quick-Win initiatives, such as free health check-ups, aimed at enhancing equitable healthcare access and building resilience in the healthcare system against climate-related challenges.
