Recover, a leading global producer of recycled cotton fiber based out of Spain has announced the opening of a new manufacturing facility in Dong Nai province, Vietnam, as part of its global expansion strategy. Set to begin operations in early 2025, this facility will utilize advanced recycling technology to promote large-scale sustainability within Vietnam’s rapidly growing textile production market. The strategic location of the factory allows Recover to be close to textile waste sorting and manufacturing operations, thereby reducing shipping costs and environmental impact.
The new facility spans nearly 14,000 square meters and will initially operate with two advanced recycling lines, producing an annual capacity of 10,000 metric tonnes. A dedicated laboratory will ensure consistent product quality and ongoing innovation in both products and processes. One of the key products from this facility will be RMix, an innovative recycling solution for cotton-polyester blends that eliminates the need for fiber separation, addressing a significant challenge in polycotton recycling while enhancing energy efficiency.
CEO Anders Sjöblom emphasized that the expansion into Vietnam is vital for Recover’s strategic business plan, as it aims to leverage circularity in the Vietnamese textiles industry. By introducing advanced recycling technology to a major textile hub, Recover enhances its service capabilities and aims to contribute to a positive shift towards sustainable practices in Vietnam as well.
