A collaborative venture is set to launch a hyperscale green data center testbed and training program in Sarawak, East Malaysia region. This collaboration involves Solarvest Holdings Bhd through its subsidiary, Solarvest Borneo Sdn Bhd, and partners which include the Sarawak Foundation’s subsidiary Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, and GreenBay CES Sdn Bhd.
The initiative emphasizes research, development, and the generation of intellectual property in clean energy solutions. Solarvest Borneo will lend its knowledge in green energy and energy efficiency, Centexs will provide a space for hands-on data center training, Huawei Malaysia will support the program’s training needs with its technological expertise, and GreenBay will focus on building future-ready, cost-efficient data centers.
The overarching goal of this collaboration is to create hyperscale data centers that prioritize environmental responsibility by minimizing carbon footprints and optimizing resource use. These centers aim to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and reliability of data services, setting a new standard in the industry. The partnership aligns with Solarvest’s strategy to champion eco-conscious and efficient data centers, incorporating renewable energy sources and innovative methods to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
