President Marcos expressed his commitment to strengthen the Philippines’ ties with Brazil in various sectors such as agriculture, trade, defense, and climate change. During the acceptance of credentials for the Brazilian Ambassador-designate, Marcos highlighted Brazil’s importance as a valued partner in technical cooperation, agriculture, trade and investment, defense, and environmental protection.
The President looks forward to intensifying collaboration with Ambassador Gilberto Fonseca Guimarães de Moura, particularly in trade, technical cooperation, defense, and climate action. Marcos also expressed support for Brazil’s hosting of the 30th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC in 2025 and reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to collaboration within the principles of the United Nations and other multilateral fora. The Brazilian ambassador reciprocated the commitment to overcoming challenges and expanding collaboration with the Philippines. The two nations established diplomatic relations in 1946 and will celebrate 78 years of ties in July.
