New Food Technology Center Launched in Thailand

May 2025

CPRAM, a prominent Thai company in the ready-to-eat food sector, has launched the first phase of its Food Technology Exchange Center (FTEC), supported by an initial investment of over USD 2.7 million. This initiative reflects the company’s strategic focus on strengthening Thailand’s food industry and contributing to its development as a center for global food innovation. CPRAM aims to achieve revenue of approximately USD 930 million by 2025.

FTEC is designed to promote collaboration among researchers, developers, and businesses by offering a centralized location for knowledge exchange and technological advancement. It seeks to address practical challenges in the food sector by integrating scientific expertise with advanced technologies.

The center will provide businesses, including small and medium-sized enterprises, with access to specialists from both public and private sectors. This access is expected to support the development of innovative food solutions through joint research initiatives. CPRAM will offer facilities, personnel, and equipment to facilitate these efforts, serving as the main coordinator of activities at the center.

The first phase of FTEC focuses on biotechnological applications and includes collaborations with the Faculty of Food Science, Technology and Management at Panyapiwat Institute of Management and CP Foodlab Company Limited. Subsequent phases will expand into robotics and digital technologies.

FTEC is part of a broader effort to improve the competitiveness of Thailand’s food industry from production to consumption. CPRAM aims to create an open platform that enables effective problem-solving and fosters innovation across the food supply chain.
