MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia’s national applied R&D center under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), has partnered with MY E.G. Services Berhad (MYEG) to roll out the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), a neutral, trusted platform designed to accelerate digital service innovation and bolster the country’s digital economy. The MBI supports Malaysia’s digital asset initiatives and is a major component of the National Blockchain Roadmap, aimed at promoting cross-sectoral adoption of blockchain technology.
Developed to serve as a key enabler of Malaysia’s digital transformation, MBI provides a unified platform for developers and enterprises to build advanced blockchain solutions in areas such as digital identity, decentralized finance (DeFi), and asset tokenization. By simplifying blockchain accessibility for non-technical users, MBI also empowers early adopters like Masverse, iTrace, Heitech Padu, and others to implement applications in fields such as supply chain traceability, secure digital credentials, and asset management, helping to foster interoperability, inclusivity, and data security across sectors.
MBI is powered by MYEG’s Zetrix blockchain, and operates alongside public chains such as Ethereum and Solana to enable seamless cross-chain transactions through a single interface. By aggregating resources and removing barriers to blockchain participation, MBI enhances Malaysia’s competitiveness in the region, supports a robust digital ecosystem, and attracts high-value investment and talent. Stakeholders across government, industry, and academia are urged to collaborate closely to ensure MBI becomes a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient foundation for the country’s blockchain future.
