The Indonesian Air Force (IDAF) received the first of five C-130J-30 Super Hercules tactical airlifters from Lockheed Martin, ushering in a new era of Hercules operations for this long-time C-130 operator.
The IDAF’s new C-130J-30s provide greater cargo capacity, speed, range, power, performance, and lower operating costs over previous C-130s, allowing the IDAF to handle its wide variety of mission needs for decades to come. These new C-130J-30s enhance the IDAF’s capacity to collaborate on operations and training with allies and regional forces that also use the Super Hercules.
Since the 1960s, Indonesia has used its C-130 Hercules fleet for essential national and regional missions such as humanitarian aid and disaster relief, as well as providing military and peacekeeping support around the Pacific Rim.
