Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of US-based RTX Corp., is set to open a new 7,846-square-metre facility at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Tanauan City, Batangas, by the third quarter to meet growing domestic and global demand.
The expansion is expected to enhance operational efficiency, increase production output, and strengthen support for the aerospace sector, particularly in the manufacturing of airliner cabin interiors such as galleys, lavatories, and seating. The company has also previously manufactured economy-class seats for Philippine Airlines’ Airbus A321ceo fleet.
FPIP, a 600-hectare industrial park developed by First Philippine Holdings Corp. and Sumitomo Corporation, hosts over 150 locators and employs approximately 80,000 workers. Collins Aerospace’s expansion highlights the Philippines’ growing role in the global aerospace supply chain and its potential to generate high-value employment opportunities.
