Biotech startup Cell AgriTech is launching a pilot plant in Singapore as a “launchpad for cellular agriculture production.” The facility will begin operations next month and offers a contract manufacturing model that helps startups and cultivated meat companies scale or validate their products without upfront capital or operational expenses. Key features include dedicated bioreactors per client, real-time remote monitoring, on-site training and office spaces, dedicated cell banks, free technology testing, regulatory support, flexible long-term partnerships, and strong IP protection.
Cell AgriTech previously opened Malaysia’s first cultivated meat production plant in Penang with an investment of around MYR 20 million (approximately USD 4.6 million). It will host a Cultivated Meat Conference at the Penang site in September 2025 to demonstrate the production process, from lab research to full-scale production, with live demonstrations and information on cell harvesting and product development.
The company aims to support alternative protein companies, entrepreneurs, hotels, and fine-dining restaurants by providing an affordable and flexible way to produce cultivated meat products in Singapore. Cell AgriTech encourages cellular agriculture businesses to engage with their pilot plant to scale, prototype, or produce for the market in a region gaining significant global attention.
