Cebu Mitsumi, a subsidiary of Japan’s MinebeaMitsumi Group, has officially broken ground on a new PHP 7.3 billion (USD 128 million) advanced production facility in the MRI Special Economic Zone, Danao City, Cebu.
The 5,000 sqm expansion, featuring a Class 10,000 Clean Room, will generate over 500 direct jobs and bolster the company’s presence in high-tech sectors such as semiconductors, EVs, renewable energy, and AI. This aligns with MinebeaMitsumi’s global strategy to strengthen its advanced manufacturing capabilities.
With more than 40 years in the Philippines and over 20,000 employees in Danao alone, Cebu Mitsumi is a key contributor to the country’s electronics and automotive industries. Total investments by the group in the Philippines have now exceeded PHP 9.2 billion (USD 161 million).
