An Australian biotechnology company, Core8 Group, has announced plans to establish Vietnam’s first AI-driven hospital, named the MedArmor AI Hospital, which will focus on preventive healthcare through advanced technology. The facility aims to enhance early disease detection and timely interventions by utilizing virtual care technologies such as video conferencing, telestroke management, and electronic intensive care units. The hospital’s foundational electronic medical record (EMR) system will leverage AI to analyze patient health data, providing actionable insights for personalized medical guidance and preventive screenings.
Located in the Duc Hoa 3 Industrial Park in Long An province, the MedArmor AI Hospital will address key challenges in the healthcare sector, including equity, cost, and environmental sustainability. By adopting a virtual care model, the hospital seeks to expand access to healthcare services for underserved communities while minimizing waste and reducing carbon emissions associated with patient travel. Additionally, the AI-driven approach is expected to streamline administrative processes, allowing healthcare professionals to concentrate more on patient care and their professional development.
The project aligns with Vietnam’s broader goals of digital transformation in various industries, particularly healthcare. The country has been actively seeking international partnerships to enhance its technological capabilities and signed its first healthcare AI partnership with Microsoft in 2023. As part of its strategic vision for smart healthcare, Vietnam plans to expand its EMR system nationwide by the end of 2025.
