AAR CORP. and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) have announced the formation of a new joint venture in the Asia-Pacific region, aimed at providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for nacelles of next-generation aircraft. This venture, which will be based at AAR’s facility in Chonburi, Thailand, marks the second collaboration between the two companies; their first joint venture was established in 2021 to serve the Americas region. The new partnership will focus on on-wing and on-site inspections and ensure extensive parts availability for customers, enhancing service delivery and support for operators.
The joint venture is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to strengthen both companies’ positions in the Asia-Pacific market. AFI KLM E&M’s Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development, Benjamin Moreau, emphasized that their combined expertise and sustainable supply chain will lead to superior MRO services. AAR’s Senior Vice President of Component Services, Jim Berberet, noted that this collaboration will expand their nacelle capabilities and support a broad network of operators, positioning them to meet the needs of large fleets in the region while planning to cover additional engine nacelle types in the future.
