Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, the master planner of Malaysia’s administrative capital, has collaborated with Sunway Healthcare Holdings Sdn Bhd, the healthcare division of local conglomerate Sunway Berhad, to develop a state-of-the-art, multi-specialty tertiary medical center in Putrajaya. This collaboration is part of a broader vision to establish a modern, high-quality, and integrated healthcare ecosystem in the city.
The medical center will be located in Precinct 7, chosen for its strategic location near Putrajaya Sentral and key medical institutions such as Putrajaya Hospital, the National Cancer Institute, and the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. The first phase will feature a tertiary hospital with over 300 beds, offering advanced and specialized treatments, including a burns unit for residents of Putrajaya, the wider Southern Klang Valley region, and international patients. This development complements the city’s vision of delivering a holistic lifestyle supported by robust infrastructure and abundant green spaces.
The medical center will be adjacent to Destina Putrajaya, a new transit-oriented commercial hub scheduled to open in November 2025. This proximity will offer enhanced accessibility and integration with residential, commercial, and lifestyle offerings via modern public transport networks. The project highlights Putrajaya’s commitment to sustainable urban living and comprehensive community well-being.
