Orissa International Supports USDA Trade Mission to Strengthen U.S. Agricultural Exports in Southeast Asia

Orissa International successfully facilitated a high-impact trade mission to Thailand from February 3-6, 2025, supporting the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in expanding opportunities for U.S. agricultural exports in Southeast Asia. Led by Foreign Agricultural Service Acting Associate Administrator Patrick Packnett, the mission included nearly 40 U.S. agribusinesses, trade organizations, and representatives from five state departments of agriculture, including North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and officials from Idaho, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Our team managed the end-to-end execution of the mission, including business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking sessions, site visits, and logistical coordination. We arranged 483 B2B meetings with 102 buyers from Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar, fostering valuable connections across various agricultural sectors. With Thailand’s growing middle class and increasing demand for high-quality imported goods, this mission provided U.S. suppliers with direct access to key importers and distributors in the region. Beyond trade discussions, Orissa International organized site visits to relevant industry locations, providing the delegation with first-hand exposure to the Thai agricultural landscape, consumer preferences, and retail practices.

With the United States exporting $1.2 billion in agricultural products to Thailand in 2023, this mission reinforced the country’s position as a key market for U.S. agribusinesses. By facilitating strong business partnerships and delivering market intelligence, Orissa International continues to support U.S. exporters in capitalizing on Southeast Asia’s growing demand for premium agricultural products.
